Sharing Showcase
Each trimester, students will present a "Sharing Showcase" of one book that they have read. The Sharing Showcase will consist of a creative project and a presentation. (This is not "just" a book report, so a formal written paper is not necessary, however, students must have index cards or notes for their presentation. Please refer to the rubric.
The creative project may include:
Make a timeline of the 6 most important events in the book and illustrate them.
Write a travel guide for someone who wishes to journey to the setting of your book.
Design a game about facts from the book.
Create a scale model of a place or scene in the book.
Put together a time capsule for different time periods from the book.
Make masks of different characters from the book.
Design a commercial for the book.
Make a "movie" about your book using shoeboxes, adding machine tape, and pencils as rollers.
Create a radio show about the book.
Make up a scrapbook of famous quotations from the book.
The list could go on and on! Be creative! If you have any questions about your ideas see me for approval.
In addition to the creative piece, the students must also include each of the following in their presentations:
Main character description
Plot description

Summary of the book
