| Each year crayfish live in our
classroom for several months. Students learn how the structure of the
crayfish helps it to live in its environment. They walk to a local pond to
experience the natural habitat of the crayfish. Students generalize
the knowledge they gain to research other animals and to
turn the classroom into an Animal Museum. |
Students research the
structure, behavior, and habitat of one animal. They write research
reports about one animal and create PowerPoint presentations in a small
group about their animal and its habitat. They invite parents,
teachers, administrators, and second graders to their Animal Museum. |
