I received a Bachelors degree in English from the University of Rhode Island in 1977.  I worked at Met Life for 18 and a half years before leaving to pursue a Masters in Education, along with certification, from Rhode Island College.  I also received a Masters in Reading degree at RIC.  I subbed for three years in various districts prior to being hired in Coventry.  At the beginning of my educational career, I was a Reading Specialist at Tiogue and Hopkins Hill.  Then I taught third grade at Blackrock for two years.  After that, I returned to Tiogue full time as a Reading Specialist and became certified in Reading Recovery.  I am eager to work with all grade levels in literacy this school year!
