The research portion of the Capstone Projects is a significant component of the project. You are required to locate and read at least 10 pieces of research related to your project. Many students go beyond the 10 sources.

Research components include:

  • 10 Sources of research using at least 3 types of primary sources (books, interviews, journals, transcripts, etc.). The important components of your research must be highlighted, this will assist you with your annotations.
  • OPTIONAL: A works cites page in MLA format organized in alpha order.
  • OPTIONAL: An annotated bibliography consisting of a summary of the research piece and how you will use this source for your capstone project.

Research Procedure:

  1. 90% of sources should come from library databases.
  2. All research must be organized by topic and place in a manila envelope.
    1. In the following order:
      1. Research Topic Sheet.
      2. Each research piece  (10 total) with:
        1. Research Tracking Form.
        2. Approximately 5 pages of research content or approximately 50 pages total.
        3. Highlighted information for summarization.
        4. Stapled as a packet.
        5. Placed in order into envelope.
      3. Properly cited and annotated research tracking sheets.
  3. Submitted on or before the due date.
  4. No research will be accepted in any other format.
